The 2026 World Cup will be the first with 48 nations and will be played across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The format splits teams into 12 groups of four; the top two of each group plus the eight best third-placed sides advance, forming a round of 32 that is brand new in World Cup history.
This simulator lets you recreate the entire tournament: set the group stage, work out the qualifying third-placed teams and build the knockout bracket from the round of 32 to the grand final. You decide which nation is crowned world champion.
Because expanding to 48 nations in 12 groups sends 32 teams through (the top two of each group plus the eight best third-placed sides), so the knockout stage opens with a round of 32 that no previous World Cup has ever had.
It takes the 12 group runners-up in third and ranks them by points, goal difference and goals scored; the eight best advance to the round of 32 and the other four are eliminated.
No. From the round of 32 to the final everything is settled in a single match, exactly like the real 2026 format; the simulator never generates a return leg.
You control every group and knockout result, so you can follow whatever bracket emerges from the three host nations or steer your own team all the way to lifting the trophy at MetLife Stadium.
