About the Copa Libertadores 2026 simulator

The CONMEBOL Libertadores is the most important club tournament in South America. In the group stage, 32 teams are split into 8 groups of four; the top two of each group reach the round of 16 and, from there, every tie is played over two legs up to a single-match final at a neutral venue.

With this simulator you control the competition from start to finish: enter the group-stage results, build the round-of-16 ties and settle every knockout up to crowning the champion of the Americas. Perfect for predicting your team or recreating the Libertadores your own way.

How to simulate the Libertadores

  1. 1Enter the six matches in each of the 8 groups: the simulator sorts every group by points, goal difference and goals scored, and flags the two clubs that qualify for the round of 16.
  2. 2In the round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals, set the score for both the home and away legs; the simulator adds the two results and decides the tie on aggregate.
  3. 3If a tie finishes level on aggregate, it goes straight to a penalty shootout (no extra time): you pick which club wins the shootout and advances.
  4. 4The final is a single match at a neutral venue: name your Libertadores champion and share your full bracket.

Frequently asked questions

How is each Libertadores knockout tie decided in the simulator?

From the round of 16 to the semi-finals ties are played over two legs: the simulator adds the goals from both matches and advances the club with the higher aggregate.

What happens if a tie is level on aggregate?

There is no extra time in this simulator: if the aggregate ends even, the tie goes straight to penalties and you choose the shootout winner.

Is the Libertadores final also two-legged?

No. The final is a single match at a predefined neutral venue; if it ends in a draw, it is settled on penalties with no extra time.

How many teams reach the round of 16 and how do they qualify?

Sixteen advance: the top two from each of the 8 groups, ranked by points, goal difference and goals scored within their group.

Can I simulate only the group stage?

Yes. You can stop once the 8 groups are complete or keep building the two-legged ties all the way to the final; you control the pace.
