About the Conference League 2026/27 simulator

The UEFA Conference League is Europe's third club competition and opens the continental door to teams from smaller leagues. Its league phase gathers 36 clubs in a single table where each one plays six matches, two fewer than in the Europa League, which makes every single matchday especially demanding.

Here you build the knockout stage your own way: the top eight enter the round of 16 directly and places 9 to 24 contest a preliminary play-off. Fill in the two-legged ties, settle draws on penalties and take your club all the way to the single-match final.

How to simulate the Conference League

  1. 1Start with the single 36-club table and fill in each team's six matches: with so few matchdays, one defeat can already knock a side out of the top eight.
  2. 2Lock in qualification: the top eight go straight to the round of 16, while 9th to 24th meet in the two-legged access play-off.
  3. 3In every two-legged tie the simulator adds up the aggregate; when it ends level, control passes to you to settle the shootout from the penalty spot.
  4. 4Chain together the round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals, then close with the single-match final to crown the season's third European champion.

Frequently asked questions

Why does each team play only six matches in the league phase?

Because the Conference League is UEFA's third competition and runs a shorter league phase: six games against the eight of the Europa League and Champions League, so every point counts twice as much.

Which clubs have to go through the access play-off?

Those finishing between 9th and 24th in the single table. They meet over two legs, and the eight winners join the already-qualified top eight to form the 16 in the round of 16.

How does the simulator break a tie over two legs?

It adds the goals from the first and second leg to reach the aggregate; if the combined score is level, it hands you control to settle the penalty shootout as you see fit.

Is the final also played over two legs?

No. Only the earlier rounds are two-legged; the Conference League title is decided in a single one-off final.

Can I take an underdog club all the way to the title?

Yes, and that is the spirit of the tournament: as the third European tier it gives the spotlight to teams from smaller leagues, and here you can guide them matchday by matchday until they lift the trophy.
